Arizona during the winter of 1959 During the winter of 1959 must have been the last time that we were able to go down to Arizona and stay with Grandpa and Grandma Rip. Terry would have been 5, me (Mike) 4, and Debbie one. I think that we were at the temple ground there in Mesa. It seemed like that was one of the places that we always went to down in Mesa while visiting grandpa and grandma Rip. I remember eating breakfast at their home and always having a fresh grapefruit and Raisin Bran. It didn’t seem like we had either while at home. I can’t remember if we stayed down there all winter or not but this would have been the last winter before Terry started school. After that we could only go down to Mesa during the school Christmas break. As a young kid around this age (4) I could remember playing with the next door neighbors of grandpa and grandmas.
